from November Our Savior’s Messenger:

As Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and Atonement Lutheran Church continue on the path to become one, I am sure we all have some questions, concerns and perhaps fears.

120529-bellewAs I continue to speak to our church members on a one-to-one basis, the word “trust” comes up over and over again. I remind Our Savior’s Lutheran Church members that we must always trust God. In Proverbs 3:5-6, we learn that we must trust God totally and not lean on our own knowledge. As we continue on this path to become one, we will have to continue to make difficult decisions on many levels. We must always put our whole trust in God, and avoid becoming stuck or frozen in the process.

God has the capacity to assist us throughout this decision making process, a process we must go through, and only with God’s guidance and support. We need to bring each decision to God, every step of the way. Bring your questions around this decision making process to God each day, in the following ways:

  1. Taking time to pray each day.
  2. Taking time to study God’s Word each day.
  3. Opening your heart to God.

As Our Savior’s Lutheran Church moves forward with plans to join ministry with Atonement Lutheran Church, we have many difficult decisions to make. I encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ to go beyond your own understanding of these times. Let us trust God as we engage this on-going decision making process.

Trusting in God always,

Pastor Ron Bellew
