Here are two Bible study groups Atonement East and West are starting in October:
“Made to Crave” Book Discussion. This group will meet monthly starting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10. Discussion will focus on the book Made to Crave by Lysa Terkeurst, a book that will help you find the “want to” that may have been missing in your quest to make healthy lifestyle changes, a “want to” that’s based on helping you learn to crave God rather than food. The first meeting is coming up on Thursday, October 10, and the group is expected to meet monthly. Contact Gayle Engelstad or Dana O’Brien if you’re interested or have any questions.
“What It Means to Be Christian” study starting Thursday, October 17 at 6:30 in Atonement’s parlor. Using Marcus Borg and Tim Scorer’s 5 session study “Embracing an Adult Faith,” participants will explore five aspects of our Christian Faith: God, Jesus, Salvation, Practice and Community. Through video, session workbook and the Bible, we will discuss and consider What It Means to Be Christian. This Study will be led by Pastor Denise Mbise. The participant book is available on Amazon for $10.26 and Kindle for $9.75. Subsequent sessions will be Thursdays, October 24, and 31 and November 14 and 21 at 6:30 p.m. in Atonement’s parlor.
